Purcell Named To Canadian AHL All-Star Team

The Manchester Monarchs and the American Hockey League announced on Tuesday that right wing Teddy Purcell was named to the Canadian AHL All-Star team for the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Charter Communications, to be played later this month at the DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.

He led the Monarchs in goals (9) and points (19) at the time of his recalled by the Los Angeles Kings on December 10, 2008. Purcell was a starter for the 2008 Canadian AHL All-Star Team and he was named MVP of the 2008 AHL All-Star Classic after collecting a hat trick during regulation play and then scoring the decisive goal in the shootout.
