Bulldogs Release Mike Minard from P.T.O.

HAMILTON, ON - Hamilton Bulldogs General Manager Julien BriseBois announced today that the club has released goaltender Mike Minard from his Professional Tryout (P.T.O.) contract.
Minard, 32, did not play in any games with Hamilton during his time with the club. He played last season with the New Mexico Scorpions of the Central Hockey League. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound netminder posted a record of 15-12-1 along with a goals against average of 3.74 and a save percentage of 0.895. A former 4th round, 83rd overall selection of the Edmonton Oilers in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, Minard played in four seasons with the Bulldogs (1996-2000) and has an overall record of 26-16-5 in 54 games while registering a 3.01 GAA and a 0.913 SV%. The native of Owen Sound, Ontario is also a two-time winner (1999-2000, 2000-2001) of the AHL's Yanick Dupre Award which is given to the player who best represents the spirit of Yanick Dupre with his involvement in the community.
The 'Dogs finish their six-game home stand tonight when the Lake Erie Monsters visit Copps Coliseum for a 7:30 p.m. match-up.
