
Pride Wrap-Up Home Stand with 4-2 Loss

FLORENCE, SC -- The Pee Dee Pride's five-game home stand came to an end Saturday night as the Pride fell to the Johnstown Chiefs 4-2 in front of 3,495 fans at the Florence Civic Center.
Johnstown got on the board first with just three seconds left in the first period as Jean Desrochers tucked a shot past Sebastien Laplante. It was the first time in 11 home games that the Pride did not score first.
Pee Dee tied the game at 6:15 of the second. On a delayed penalty, Tyler Kindle wristed a shot past David Cann for his sixth goal of the season.
The Chiefs took a 3-1 lead through two periods on goals by Mike James and Shawn Mather.
The Pride pulled within one at 6:24 of the third on Jeff Szwez; 14th of the season, but Johnstown retook a two-goal lead at 12:02 on Chad Cavanagh's seventh of the season.
In the loss, Chad Spurr extended his scoring streak to 11 games, while Allan Sirois saw his streak end at 10 games.
