All-Star Game TV Broadcast Available Live To 30 Million

PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECHL announced on Saturday that Comcast has agreed to televise the 2005 Coors Light ECHL All-Star Game live, bringing the number of households coast-to-coast able to view the live telecast from 7-9:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday to more than 30 million and including tape delay broadcasts to more than 40 million households.

Comcast will show the game live in Reading/Hamburg on Channel 21, in Pottsville on Channel 7 and in Lebanon on Channel 15.

The play-by-play will be handled by John Curtis of the host Reading Royals while former New York Rangers president and general manager and current ESPN, TSN and NHL Network analyst Neil Smith will be the color commentator. Josh Fisher of the Las Vegas Wranglers will handle in-game and between-period interviews with players, coaches and representatives from the ECHL and the National Hockey League.

The game will be telecast live on The NHL Network in Canada for the third straight year and is also available live on Comcast Charter Sports Southeast and America One Television. The telecast was again offered free of charge to all ECHL teams and will be carried live in the following ECHL markets: Idaho (Cable One), Peoria (Insight Media), Pensacola (WFGX-TV) Reading (Comcast) and San Diego (Cox Cable).

The ECHL, in association with Yahoo! Broadcast, is also making the same telecast that is shown on television available free of charge online with live broadband video for the third year in a row. Links to the video broadcast will be available on the ECHL web site and on Yahoo! The live broadcast video requires a minimum connection speed of 100 Kbytes and Real Player. Dial-up customers will be able to listen to the radio broadcast on Yahoo! Broadcast, marking the seventh consecutive year that Yahoo! Broadcast has carried the ECHL All-Star Game audio broadcast live on the Internet.

America One Television lists the following affiliates in ECHL markets: Augusta (WBEK), Charlotte (WLNN), Fresno (KJEO), Greenville (WAEN), Las Vegas (KEEN), Pensacola (WRBD) and Trenton (WZBN). A complete list of America One affiliated stations can be found at americaone.com.

Comcast Charter Sports Southeast lists the following affiliates in ECHL markets: Augusta (Channel 6), Florida (Channel 70 in Naples-Ft. Myers), Greenville (Channel 58), Gwinnett (Channel 32), and Gulf Coast (Channel 28 in Sarasota). A complete list of CSS stations can be found at css-sports.com.

The game will be televised on tape delay by Comcast Detroit at 7 p.m. on January 27, by Cox Sports Television Louisiana at 3 p.m. on January 29 and by CN8 on January 30 at 2 p.m.
