Moose Jaw Warriors News Release
Coming off their biggest win of the season on Wednesday, the Moose Jaw Warriors have hit the road to Alberta for three games in four nights.
"It's always fun to go on the road, some new scenery, but makes it a little bit nicer when you're going on a high note, now we just got to continue to do what we did on Wednesday," Warriors head coach Mark O'Leary.
The Warriors will open the road trip in Red Deer on Saturday night and then head into Calgary on Sunday afternoon for a rematch with the Hitmen after beating them 8-2 on Wednesday.
The road trip finishes with the toughest test against the Central Division-leading Edmonton Oil Kings on Tuesday.
Wednesday's win was one of the most complete efforts for the Warriors this season.
That was just the second time this season, the Warriors had all its top defencemen healthy through a full game and O'Leary said it was nice to see the results come.
"To have an effort like that where I thought it was one of our best games all season long, where everybody was just doing exactly what they're here to do, it's fun when you play that way," he said.
The win snapped a two-game slide for the Warriors and got momentum turned around for the road trip.
"It was a tough loss the game before and even last time we played Calgary, they kind of embarrassed us, so it was nice get a bounce back game and we're feeling good going into the weekend," Warriors forward Braden Yager said.
Keeping that momentum going will be key going into the road trip.
Yager said the Warriors chemistry continues to grow and is a key part of the team's success.
"It adds a lot of depth to our team, if guys are clicking and it's hard to match up against, so if we keep clicking, things will go the right way for us," he said.
The Warriors and Rebels open up the road trip on Saturday night at 8 p.m. Saskatchewan time at the Peavy Mart Centrium.
Tune into all the action throughout the road trip with Voice of the Warriors, James Gallo. The Pre-Game Show kicks off Saturday night at 7:40 p.m. on Country 100.
