McClennon's Hat Trick Tops Prince Albert

Connor McClennon's Western Hockey League leading 26th, 27th and 28th goals of the season were the first hat trick of the season for the Winnipeg ICE Friday night in Prince Albert pacing them to a 5-2 victory over the Raiders.

Owen Pederson gave the ICE a 1-0 lead after the opening frame. Winnipeg scored four times in the second period, three from McClennon and Cole Muir's seventh, secured the win.

Winnipeg out shot Prince Albert 30-25. The visitors also won the special teams battle going 2/8 on the power play while the Raiders were 0/3.

Daniel Hauser improved his personal record to 13-0-1 making 23 saves.

Tikhon Chaika allowed four goals on 17 shots in 31:17. He was replaced by Max Hildebrand who stopped 12 of 13 over the final 28:43.

The ICE, now with a 29-5-2 record, have a league high 60 points.

Tayem Gislason and Reece Vitelli replied for the Raiders. Their record falls to 15-20-1-1.
