LAST TIME OUT:
A controversial decision from the referee sank Hartford's upset chances against 2nd-place New York Red Bulls II last Saturday afternoon. Leading 1-0 thanks to a Sebastian Dalgaard firecracker from 25 yards out, Alex Davey was called for a take down in the box in the 53rd minute. The referee issued a Red Card to Davey for the foul and also to Hartford Athletic Left Back Raymond Lee. Up two men for the remainder of the match, the Red Bulls scored 5 times to put the match away.
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Hartford Athletic - Giuseppe Gentile, F
Gentile is a welcome addition to the Hartford Athletic rotation. A fan favorite, Gentile hasn't appeared in a match since May 19th where he suffered a concussion against Loudoun United in the club's first ever USL Championship victory. Gentile is an energy player and it will be exciting to see him log some quality minutes as he builds up his match fitness.
Puerto Rico - Jacob Conde, D
Conde is a native of Bloomfield, CT who will take the field against his hometown team. Conde, who was a First-Team All-Conference player at Medallia, will be playing in his sixth career match for Puerto Rico. He has played in various leagues in Europe including stops in England, Spain, and Croatia.
