PrairieThunder Loses 4-3 in Overtime at Wichita

The Bloomington PrairieThunder took a 3-0 lead midway through the second period on goals from Brett Holmberg (15th), Billy Bezeau (his 1st as a PrairieThunder and 6th overall), and Jon Booras (his 16th). However, the Wichita Thunder would answer with four straight goals to defeat Bloomington 4-3 in overtime on Saturday night. The PrairieThunder led 3-2 until Lance Galbraith scored for Wichita with only :47 seconds left in regulation. The Thunder had pulled their goaltender for an extra attacker. Then in overtime, with Wichita on their tenth power play, A.J. Gale scored the game winner at 2:37 of overtime. Bloomington had only three power play opportunities.

Bloomington (25-16-3) picks up a point with the overtime loss. It was the PrairieThunder's first overtime loss of the year (5-1). Bloomington did move back into third place in the CHL's Turner (Northern) Conference. Wichita improved to 24-17-4. PrairieThunder goaltender Brad Phillips took the loss while stopping 30 of 34 shots.
