
Power Prep for Road Trip on Winning Note

The West Virginia Power closed a seven game home stand and three game series against the Charleston Riverdogs with a 3-2 walk off win. Drew Maggi drove home the winning run with a single in the bottom of the ninth to give West Virginia a 3-2 victory.
The Riverdogs broke through first with a solo home run on a lined shot over the left field wall off the bat of Kelvin De Leon in the top of the second inning.
The Power battled back quickly collecting a run in the bottom half of the second inning. Cole White led off the inning with a lined shot into left field. White advanced to third on a single by Elias Diaz. Rogelio Noris drove White into score with an opposite field single tying the game 1-1.
The Power jumped ahead 2-1 in the bottom half of the fourth inning. Justin Howard led off with an infield single. Howard stole second base and then reached third following a wild pitch. Chases Lyles hit an infield single into the hole at shortstop that scored Howard easily.
Zac Fuesser started for the Power, but didn't pick up a decision in the contest. Fuesser threw seven solid innings allowing one run on five hits and struck out four Riverdog batters.
Charleston leveled the game back to a tie with a run in the top of the eighth inning. Eduardo Sosa drove a triple near the tarp down the right field line. Sosa scored on a single from Jose Toussen.
The Power would take the victory in exciting fashion with a walk off single. Drew Maggi drove the ball into left centerfield and scored Rogelio Noris to give West Virginia a 3-2 win to take the three game series against Charleston.
The Power will open a series Wednesday evening visiting the Savannah Sand Gnats. The first pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. at Grayson Stadium.
