
Crawdads 1B Andrew Clark Named SAL Player of Week

HICKORY, NC - The Hickory Crawdads, 1st-Half Northern Division Champions, have announced that Crawdads 1B Andrew Clark has been named by the South Atlantic League as SAL Player of the Week for July 11 - 17. It is the Crawdads third SAL Weekly Award of the season.
Clark, 23, helped lead the first-place Crawdads to a 5-1 record during the week by hitting .391 (9-for-23) with four home runs and 12 RBIs in the team's six games. Clark also added two doubles, seven runs scored and four walks, while posting a .481 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage.
The Indianapolis, Indiana, native is hitting .302 with eight bombs and 41 RBIs through 80 games overall this season. Clark has hit safely in nine of his last 10 games, hitting .469 (15-for-32) with five homers, 15 RBIs and 11 runs during that stretch. He leads the entire South Atlantic League with a .427 on-base percentage, while also leading the team and ranking tied for 3rd in the league in walks (52). Clark becomes the third Crawdad this season to win an SAL Weekly Award, joining OF Jake Skole and RHP Nick Tepesch, who swept the Weekly Awards for June 6-12.
