March 20, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release
Bakersfield, Calif. â The Bakersfield Condors overcame a 2-0 deficit in the first period to take a 4-3 win over the Long Beach Ice Dogs on front of 6,539 fans at Centennial Garden on Friday night.
Long Beach scored twice in the span of 1:39 towards the middle of the opening period to take a 2-0 lead. Trevor Read and Alex Kim tallied as the Ice Dogs dominated the opening half of the first period. Bakersfield got on the board late in the first on the power play, when Todd Alexander redirected a feed from Andrew Ianiero for a power play goal.
Trailing 2-1 entering the second period, the Condors defense took over and Bakersfield pressured. Less than two minutes after a would-be tying goal by Jon Mirasty was waived off because of a Condors penalty, Bakersfield notched the equalizer. Jason Ralph scored his 25th of the season during 4-on-4 action to make it 2-2 at 17:12. Quinn Fair scored a power play goal just 1:16 later to make it 3-2 Bakersfield at the end of 40 minutes.
Paul Rosebush made it 4-2 at 4:32 of the third period with his team-leading 10th power play goal. He set a new career-high with his 24th of the campaign and made it five games in a row with a tally. It proved to be the game winner, as the Ice Dogs scored at 10:48 to make it a one-goal game, but the game ended 4-3. Andrew Ianiero finished the night with three assists.
The Condors head to the road for their next four games, starting on Saturday night at 7:00pm. They return home for Student ID Night on Wednesday, March 31st against the Idaho Steelheads.
