Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
The Cyclones came up two goals short following a gritty effort vs. the Toledo Storm on Friday at U.S. Bank Arena. The Storm came away with a 5-3 lead after leading 4-0 following the first period. With the loss, the Cyclones fall to 24-39-3 on the season.
The Storm scored four unanswered in the second half of the first period. Kris Waltze, Peter Flache, John Longo and Jim Abbott all recorded markers as Toledo jumped out to a 4-0 lead.
In the second, Erik Eaton scored his first pro goal. Eaton's college teammate, Brian Escobedo, assisted on the marker. Escobedo's helper is his second in his first two pro games.
In the third, the Cyclones busted out for two power-play goals in the period's first ten minutes. Mike Henderson and Gray Shaneberger scored on the man advantage to cut the Toledo lead to one at 4-3. The Cyclones couldn't convert a late power-play opportunity, and Kris Waltze scored his second goal of the game into an empty net with 38 seconds left.
The Cyclones return to U.S. Bank Arena on Saturday for a showdown with the Johnstown Chiefs at 7:30 p.m. It's Cyclones Faith Night featuring a speech by Cincinnati quarterback Jon Kitna. Kitna's speech will begin at 7:10 p.m. For tickets visit any Ticketmaster location including on-line (ticketmaster.com) or by phone (513-562-4949) or visit U.S. Bank Arena box office.
