The Somerset Patriots defeated the Portland Sea Dogs by a final score of 3-1 on Tuesday night at Hadlock Field.
The win improved Somerset to a season-best 26 games over .500 and a second half-best 10 games over .500 at 31-21. The Patriots have now won 13 of their last 17 games.
Somerset's pitching staff fanned 13 batters. Over their last 17 games, the Patriots pitching staff has averaged 11 strikeouts per game.
RHP Yoendrys Gomez (4.2 IP, 0 R, H, 2 BB, 6 K) got a no-decision and set a new career-high with his 16th start of the season.
LHP Ryan Anderson (1.0 IP, K, SV) earned his first Double-A save with a perfect ninth inning.
DH Agustin Ramirez (2-for-4, R, 2B) put together his fourth straight two-hit game and his sixth overall out of 19 Double-A games.
C Ben Rice (2-for-5, R, K) registered his 14th multi-hit game out of 33 Double-A games. Since entering the Eastern League on July 18, Rice leads the league with a .664 SLG, 1.053 OPS, 12 HR, 20 XBH and 89 TB.
2B Caleb Durbin (2-for-5, 2 2B, K) smacked two doubles to register his fifth multi-hit game in 10 since being activated off the IL. During August, Durbin is slashing .342/.390/.447 with five stolen bases.
