The West Virginia Power fell 5-2 in ten innings against the Hagerstown Suns Friday at Appalachian Power Park. The Suns scored two in the seventh and three in the tenth to take the second game of this four game set.

West Virginia staked starter Matt Benedict to two runs in the third inning. Dan Gamache led off the inning with a double, Francisco Diaz was hit by a pitch, and Taylor Lewis reached on a single to load the bases. Gamache scored on a ground out and Diaz crossed on a wild pitch for the 2-0 edge.

Benedict tossed five shutout innings, striking out two and walking three. Rinku Singh followed with a scoreless sixth inning, but ran in to trouble in the seventh. With one out, Hagerstown reached on three straight doubles to tie the game at two. Nathan Kilcrease relieved Singh and stranded two runners on base to preserve a 2-2 game.

Neither team managed any scoring over the final two innings, but in the top of the tenth, the Suns scored three runs on four hits and two walks against Zac Fuesser. The Power were retired in order in each of the final three innings of play while dropping their third straight.

Fuesser (0-5) took the loss for West Virginia. Chris McKenzie (2-2) earned the win with two shutout relief innings and Wilson Eusebio gained his second save this season.

The Power and Suns will play at 7:05 pm on Saturday at Appalachian Power Park. The gates will open at 2:30 pm for a High Energy Rally featuring guest speakers, a concert, inflatable games, free food for the first 2,000 in attendance, and free admission to that evening's Power game.
