
Shorebirds Shut Out in Game Two, 4-0

Salisbury, Md. - The Kannapolis Intimidators (31-37) scored three runs in the third inning and got a solid pitching performance from Scott Snodgress in a 4-0 win over the Delmarva Shorebirds (28-39) on Friday night at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. The Shorebirds left nine runners on base and went 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position.
Kannapolis struck first in the third inning. Michael Johnson and Tillman Pugh hit back-to-back singles. Two batters later, with the bases loaded, Kevin Dubler hit a sacrifice fly to right field to give Kannapolis a 1-0 lead. Then, Kevan Smith singled home Pugh. Mark Haddow followed with a sacrifice fly to right field to stretch the lead to 3-0.
The Intimidators added a run in the fifth inning against reliever Williams Louico. The first three batters of the inning reached and a grounder to second scored Pugh to give Kannapolis a 4-0 lead.
Kannapolis starter Snodgress (2-2) allowed seven hits, but no runs over 6.2 innings. Chris Devenski entered in the seventh and tossed the final 2.1 innings. Devenski struck out four and gave up just one hit.
Shorebirds starter Justin Moore went four innings and surrendered three hits and three runs. Moore faced just one batter over the minimum between the first, second and fourth innings. Louico pitched three innings and allowed just one run while Devin Jones pitched two perfect innings with three strikeouts.
The Shorebirds and Intimidators play game three of the series on Saturday night at 7:05pm. RHP Parker Bridwell is the scheduled starter for the Shorebirds.
