First Pitches at Legends Games: Alan Stein, Shelvin Mack Tonight; Jodie Meeks Sunday

Two National Basketball Association players with Kentucky ties will throw ceremonial first pitches before Lexington Legends games this weekend at Whitaker Bank Ballpark, as will Legends founder and former president and CEO Alan Stein.

Shelvin Mack of the Washington Wizards, a former Bryan Station High School and Butler University star, will throw a ceremonial pitch before tonight's (Friday) game between the Lexington Legends and the Asheville Tourists. Stein will also deliver a ceremonial pitch at tonight's game. Stein is being honored with an Alan "Stein," a beer mug that will be given away to the first 1,000 fans age 21 and over. Ceremonial pitches will take place at approximately 6:45 p.m. Game time is 7:05 p.m.

Jodie Meeks of the Philadelphia 76ers, who holds the University of Kentucky's single-game scoring record of 54 points, will throw a first pitch before Sunday's game. Game time Sunday is 1:35 p.m. Ceremonial pitches will take place at approximately 1:20 p.m.
