POWER REPLAY: West Virginia lost game one of a doubleheader to Charleston on Wednesday by a 3-0 final. The RiverDogs, buoyed by the addition of former Pittsburgh Pirate Casey McGehee to their lineup, scored once in the first, once in the second, and added a run in the fourth. The Power were held to two singles and could not provide any offensive support for Zack Von Rosenberg, who fell to 4-7 despite striking out five and pitching a six inning complete game.
NIGHTCAP SUSPENDED: Game two of Wednesday's twinbill was suspended after three innings and will resume at 4:05 pm today. The clubs will play the final game of the series to seven innings after the suspended game concludes but no earlier than the originally scheduled 6:05 start time.
4.5 BEHIND WITH SIX TO GO: West Virginia enters play tonight four and a half games behind the Hagerstown Suns with six games remaining in the 2012 season. The Power finish their final road trip this evening and will host Delmarva (22-42 in the second half) over Labor Day weekend.
HONORED: Gregory Polanco and Alen Hanson were honored by the South Atlantic League on the 2012 Annual All-Star Team. Polanco was named as the league's Most Outstanding Major League Prospect and All-Star Outfielder while Hanson was honored as the league All-Star at shortstop. They are the tenth and 11th Power players to be selected as Annual All-Stars and the first since 2009. Polanco joins Rudy Owens (2009 Pitcher of the Year) as the only two West Virginia players to be selected for any of the SAL's top three awards.
WEST V. SOUTH: The RiverDogs own a 25-22 edge in the all-time series, having added nine wins to their tally this year. The Power, however, took two of three at Appalachian Power Park last week. West Virginia is 10-15 all-time at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.
DOUBLE THE FUN: The Power are 6-5 on doubleheader days this season. West Virginia has split four doubleheaders and swept one so far this season. Today's first game will count towards this record.
START THE BUS: West Virginia attempts to start its' final road trip of the season today. The Power went 7-29 on the road in the first half of the 2012 season, but have gone 18-15 away from home in the second half. The club record for the fewest road wins is 27, set by the inaugural 2005 team. The 2012 edition has already lost more road games in a single season than any other team in Power history.

POWER POINTS: Justin Ennis was placed on the Power Disabled List on Sunday, retroactive to August 25... 2011 SAL All-Star Jameson Taillon was named as the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week on Monday for August 20-27. Taillon was promoted a week and a half ago and went 2-0 in his first two Double- A starts, pitching 11 scoreless innings and striking out 13... Chase d'Arnaud was recalled to the Pirates 25-man roster on Tuesday.
AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh beat St. Louis 5-0 at PNC Park and took two of three from the Cardinals... Indianapolis edged Toledo 4-3... Altoona beat Akron 2-1... Bradenton beat Fort Myers 9-8. Mel Rojas Jr. went 4-5 with a home run, a triple, and 3 RBI... State College lost 6-4 to Auburn.
