Greensboro, NC - The Hagerstown Suns (80-53/38-26) lost their final road game of the regular season, 12-2, to the Greensboro Grasshoppers (79-56/33-32) at NewBridge Bank Park on Thursday night.
Greensboro starter Andrew Heaney (1-2) pitched the first three innings perfectly en-route to his first victory. He went six innings allowing two runs while striking out nine batters. Josh Adams and Ryan Rieger each went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs.
Suns starting pitcher Brian Rauh (3-3) took the loss, allowing five runs in just two-plus innings of work. Billy Burns went 3-for-4 with a stolen base while Justin Miller had both Suns' RBIs of the night.
The Suns will now return to Hagerstown to begin their final series of the regular season, against the Asheville Tourists, on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. RHP Blake Schwartz (1-1, 3.34) will toe the rubber against Asheville's RHP Chris Jensen (12-3, 4.34).
