TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

Fuesser: Allowed 1 R (0 ER) on 4 H with 8 K and 0 BB over 6.0 IP in 4/25 ND vs. SAV (2-1 WVP)

POWER REPLAY: West Virginia lost 9-4 to Greensboro on Sunday afternoon. The Hoppers took a 3-0 lead in the first on a home run by Matt Smith and led 5-0 before the Power got on the board. Chris Lashmet drove in a run in the sixth and Greg Polanco hit his fifth home run of the year in the seventh to account for most of the West Virginia offense. Ryan Hafner gave up four runs and took the loss.

PAYNE TRANSFERRED: The Pittsburgh Pirates have transferred relief pitcher Vince Payne off the West Virginia roster and sent him back to Extended Spring Training. Payne appeared in three games for the Power and had an ERA on 12.79 this season.

MONTERO TO POWER ROSTER: To replace Vince Payne on the active roster, the Pirates transferred Joan Montero from Bradenton to West Virginia. The right-hander was signed as a non-drafted free agent in 2009 and pitched exclusively for State College last year, going 0-1 with an ERA of 0.00 over 17 games. In two appearances for the Marauders this year, Montero held a 13.50 ERA after surrendering six run over four innings in two outings.

ENNIS RETURNS: Justin Ennis was added back to the West Virginia roster on Saturday. The southpaw made two appearances during the first week of the season, but was transferred back to Extended Spring Training on April 11. To make room for Ennis, reliever Trent Stevenson was transferred to the State College Spikes roster.

STREAKY STORIES: Chris Lashmet's seven game hitting streak came to an end Saturday and Jose Osuna six game streak ended yesterday with an 0-4 performance. Dan Gamache now has the club's longest current streak at six straight after going 1-4 Sunday.

HOPPERS IN TOWN: The Power finished this homestand and three-game series tonight at 7:05 pm against the Greensboro Grasshoppers. West Virginia leads the all-time series with Greensboro 56-40 dating back to 2005, though the Grasshoppers won the 2011 series 10-9. The Power hold a 30-19 edge at home in this series and lead 26-21 at NewBridge Bank Park. These teams will meet again next weekend in North Carolina.

TWINBILL ON THE HORIZON: Once West Virginia's series with Greensboro ends on Monday, the team will have a day off on Tuesday and will travel to Asheville to start a four game, three day series. The Power and Tourists will play two on May 2 to make up the April 18 postponed game that was scheduled to be played at Appalachian Power Park. Game one starts at 5:35 pm Wednesday.

PROMO UPDATE- MAY 10: The Power will host their first Thirsty Thursday Concert Series on May 10 at Appalachian Power Park. Rubber Soul, a Beatlestribute band, will perform immediately following West Virginia's series opener against the Charleston RiverDogs.

POWER POINTS: Alen Hanson's hitting streak was stopped at 16 games with an 0-4 performance on Friday night. During this league-best streak, Hanson hit at a .429 clip with 30 hits in 70 at bats... New Method will perform a post-game concert on May 11 during Faith and Family Night.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh lost 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at Atlanta. The Pirates led 2-0 after two innings but couldn't hold on for the win... Indianapolis blanked Durham 2-0 for the second straight day... Altoona lost both games of a twinbill at Akron, falling 4-3 in 13 innings in game one and losing the nightcap 3-2... Bradenton beat Jupiter 4-1.
