FRIDAY: West Virginia lost 5-0 to Lakewood on Friday evening. Jason Erickson and Matt Way matched scoreless innings over the first five, but the BlueClaws plated five runs against the Power bullpen, three of which were earned. West Virginia committed four errors in the game, matching their season-high, and were held to just five base runners on four hits and a walk. Way earned the win with eight shutout innings, while Maurice Bankston was charged with the loss.

DIRTY DOZEN: Jarek Cunningham had two of the Power's four hits on Friday and extended his current hitting streak to 12 in a row, surpassing David Rubinstein for the longest streak by any Power player this year. The second baseman is batting .382 during this stretch, which dates back to May 31, and has seen his average climb from .243 to .273 with 18 hits in 46 at bats. He has also hit three home runs and driven in ten runs over his last 12 games.

SHORT SLIDE: West Virginia has lost three straight and four of their last five. During this three game winless drought, the Power have been outscored 24-7, have a team batting average of .179, and hold a staff earned run average of 6.66. West Virginia's longest losing streak is four games in a row, from April 18 through 22. The Power have lost three straight on three separate occasions.

BLANKED: The Power suffered their seventh shutout of the season last night. In 2009, during their first year as a Pittsburgh Pirates affiliate, West Virginia was shutout five times. This year's squad has been blanked on April 9, 10, 25 (game two), May 9, 23 (at Lakewood), and 30.

POWER ALL-STARS: West Virginia placed four players on the 2010 South Atlantic League's Northern Division All-Star team. Ramon Cabrera, Aaron Baker, David Rubinstein, and Nathan Baker were selected by the managers, staff, fans, and media to compete in the mid-season classic, to be played at Fluor Field in Greenville, South Carolina on June 22. Aaron Baker will start at designated hitter for the North, which will be managed by Hickory's Bill Richardson. Hagerstown, Hickory, and Kannapolis each placed five representatives on the squad.

STREAKS STOPPED: Power outfielder David Rubinstein had his 11 game hitting streak and 19 game one base streak stopped with an 0-4 performance on Thursday night. The All-Star reserve had hit safely in every game he played dating back to May 27. The right fielder hit .381 during this 11-game stretch, and surpassed the previous season-best eight game runs by several West Virginia players this season. Rubinstein's streak is tied for the fifth longest game-wise run this season.

POWER POINTS: West Virginia is 22-2 when scoring five runs or more this season... Mike Williams save on Monday was the first of his professional career... Jarek Cunningham's grand slam last Saturday marked the first time this season that a Power player drove in more than three runs in a game, which had happened nine different times... The Power are 7-1 when playing on Saturdays this season.

ON THE AIR: All 140 West Virginia Power games can be heard on ESPN Radio 1490 AM in Charleston, WV, across the state on the Power Radio Network, and online at milb.com.
