HITTING AT HAGERSTOWN: On Wednesday, West Virginia's sixth, seventh, and eighth inning rallies helped produce several new single-games highs for the 2010 season. The 13 runs surpassed the previous high of ten, scored at Kannapolis in game one of an April 25 doubleheader. The Power's 18 hits was one more than their total from an April 26 win over the Intimidators. The six-run seventh inning was one more plated than in the seventh of that April 25 win. The Power also tied their season highs with four doubles and two triples.

PARTLY SUNNY SOMETIMES: The Power lead the all-time series with Hagerstown 36-34 dating back to 2005. West Virginia has fared better at home during those 68 games, going 17-11 at Appalachian Power Park. Which playing at Municipal Stadium, the Power have won 19 of 42 games. In 2009 during West Virginia's first year as a Pittsburgh Pirates affiliate, the Power lost six out of ten games against the Suns.

FREEMAN GONE/ GONZALEZ HERE: Wes Freeman was sent to the GCL Pirates roster earlier today and Elevys Gonzalez was promoted from the Gulf Coast League. Freeman hit .155 during 24 games as the Power's everyday right fielder and currently leads the SAL with 44 strikeouts. Gonzalez was signed as a non-drafted free agent in 2008 and split time last year between the GCL Pirates and State College.

POWER POINTS: Power hitters have struck out 297 times this year, second most in the SAL. Only Lakewood has struck out more (319 times)... West Virginia is 2-18 when trailing after six innings this season... Kyle Morgan played left field for the first time this season on Thursday. Morgan had played 23 games in the outfield during his career prior to last night, including three in right field for State College last year and 15 for the Spikes in 2008.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh was idle and ... Indianapolis beat Rochester 8-3... Altoona lost 4-2 at Richmond. Chase d'Arnaud drove in one of the two Curve runs... Bradenton walked off with a 3-2 win over Daytona. Robbie Grossman was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score Starling Marte for the winning run.

ON THE AIR: All 140 West Virginia Power games can be heard on ESPN Radio 1490 AM in Charleston, WV, across the state on the Power Radio Network, and online at milb.com.
