CHARLESTON, SC- Augusta ratcheted four runs on four hits in the first inning in racing to an 8-4 win over the Charleston RiverDogs in front of 5,078 fans in South Atlantic League action at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park Friday night.

With the victory, the GreenJackets end their two-game losing skid and climb to 20-15, while the RiverDogs' win streak comes to a halt at four-games, as the club falls below .500 at 17-18.

Charleston starter Kelvin Perez allowed the first five batters of the game to reach highlighted by a RBI single from Chris Dominguez and a two-run double by Tommy Joseph. Ryan Lollis RBI groundout completed the 4-0 frame.

The RiverDogs cut the score to 4-1 in the bottom half courtesy of Luke Murton's RBI groundout.

Lollis stroked a RBI triple as part of the GreenJackets' two-run third inning upping the margin to 6-1.

Justin Milo singled to start the bottom of the third and advanced two bases on Murton's double. Rob Lyerly notched a RBI groundout, and Murton came plateward on a wild pitch for a 6-3 score.

Dominguez hammered a two-run home run - his fifth of the year -- to left-centerfield off Mike Solbach in the sixth, growing the advantage to 8-3. Solbach worked 3.0 relief innings for Perez and registered eight strikeouts.

Murton concluded the scoring at 8-3 in the seventh with a RBI double.

Perez (2-1) lost for the first time this season allowing six runs in his 3.0 innings of work. Augusta's Chris Heston (2-3) recorded his first win since April 14 surrendering two earned runs in 6.0 innings with no walks and four strikeouts.

Murton and Kelvin Castro paced Charleston with three hits each, while Nick Liles contributed three hits and a pair of runs scored.

The final contest of this series is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch on Saturday night. Charleston sends left-hander Shaeffer Hall (2-1, 1.79) to the mound, while Augusta counters with right-hander Jorge Bucardo (1-2, 2.53).
