(Greensboro, NC- June 1, 2014)- The West Virginia Power lost 8-3 to the Greensboro Grasshoppers Sunday afternoon. The 'Hoppers scored three in the first and three in the eighth to knock off the Power and send West Virginia to its third loss in four days during the series.

Kentrell Dewitt sparked the Greensboro offense early with a three-run home run off West Virginia starter Cody Dickson in the bottom of the first. Danny Collins got one back for the Power with a solo home run to start the second. It was Collins third home run of the season and drove in his 21st run of the year.

The Grasshoppers got the run back in the bottom of the second, but the Power plated a run in the third and fourth to cut the deficit down to 4-3. Greensboro added one insurance run against the Power bullpen in the seventh and scored three more in the eighth to seal the win and series.

Dickson (2-7) allowed four runs on six hits over four and two-thirds to take the loss. Jarlin Garcia (5-2) allowed three runs on six hits for the Hoppers and earned the win. Collins and Harold Ramirez paced the Power with two hits apiece as West Virginia finished its seven game road trip with three wins and four losses.
