
BlueClaws Fall 11-2 on Sunday; Swept by Delmarva

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Mike Yastrzemski had three hits including a pair of three-run triples as Delmarva scored 10 runs in the sixth and seventh innings to top the BlueClaws 11-2 on Sunday afternoon at FirstEnergy Park.
The Shorebirds (34-24) swept the four-game series from Lakewood (20-34). Delmarva has now won 10 of their last 11 games while the BlueClaws have dropped seven of their last eight and are 14-games under .500 for the first time this year.
Yastrzemski's first three-run triple came in the sixth inning off Delvi Francisco and put Delmarva up 4-2. It came one batter after Francisco entered the game and walked Justin Viele to load the bases. BlueClaws starter Mark Leiter Jr. was charged with two of those three runs and three total in 5.2 innings, falling to 4-5 on the season.
In the seventh inning, Delmarva scored seven times, the largest inning by a BlueClaws opponent so far this year. Conor Bierfeldt had a two-run double off Francisco to make it 6-2. Yacksel Rios hit Viele with a pitch with the bases loaded to score another, and Yastrzemski then added his second three-run triple of the game. He came home on an RBI single by Drew Dosch.
Francisco allowed six runs in 2/3 of an inning while Rios gave up two in 1.2 innings of relief.
The BlueClaws scored their two runs on a JP Crawford groundout and Willians Astudillo RBI single. Astudillo's single extended his hitting streak to 16 games, over which ie is 21-65. It's his second 12+ game hitting streak this year.
Delmarva starter Steven Brault (6-2) gave up two runs, one earned, in six innings to earn the win.
The BlueClaws welcome in Greensboro for a four-game, three-day series beginning Monday night. The series includes a Tuesday double-header and an 11:05 am game on Wednesday.
RHP Jon Prosinski (1-0, 0.00) starts for the BlueClaws on Monday night against RHP Matt Milroy (5-3, 2.01).
