Charleston Dirty Birds News Release
(Charleston, W.V. - August 27, 2015) - The West Virginia Power fell to the Augusta GreenJackets 2-1 in game three of the series at Lake Olmstead Stadium. Both starting pitchers were excellent as Yeudy Garcia struck out a career-high ten batters but he was outdueled by Augusta southpaw Mark Reyes who held the Power to two hits over seven innings.
After five scoreless frames from both starting pitchers, each team tallied a run in the sixth inning. Taylor Gushue led off the Power sixth with a double down the left field line and scored when Tito Polo laid a sac bunt that third baseman Jonah Arenado threw wide of first base. With the Power up 1-0, Augusta tied the game after a double from Dylan Davis and an RBI single from Arenado.
West Virginia's bullpen faltered in the seventh inning and surrendered the go-ahead run without the benefit of a hit by the GreenJackets. Jake Burnette walked three straight batters with two outs and after being relieved for Edgar Santana, Santana threw a wild pitch to give the Jackets a 2-1 advantage.
Burnette (4-4) took the loss after walking four batters over one inning. Augusta starter Mark Reyes (8-6) picked up the win with seven innings of one-run ball. Garcia went 5.2 innings and received a no-decision. Reyes Moronta earned his tenth save of the season with a scoreless ninth.
West Virginia (41-18, 78-50) concludes the four-game series at Augusta (29-29, 62-65) on Friday night. RHP Alex McRae (6-9, 4.97) will take the mound for the Power in the series finale against DJ Snelten (5-4, 2.68). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. while pregame on Charleston's ESPN Radio 104.5 FM and 1490, the Power website, and the TuneIn Radio App is slated for 6:45 p.m.

The homestand begins with the 1960 Pirates World Series Championship Celebration which includes a Bill Mazeroski bobblehead courtesy of AARP and 58 WCHS and it will be given to the first 1,000 fans through the gates of Appalachian Power Park.
