Polasek Returns from Utica
December 20, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Kalamazoo, MI- The Vancouver Canucks have reassigned defenseman Adam Polasek from the Utica Comets to the Kalamazoo Wings.
Polasek, who was called up on December 12th, didn't play in any games for the Comets.
The K-Wings will return home for two games starting tonight versus the Toledo Walleye.
For the first-time ever the K-Wings will team up with Bell's Brewery INC. to create an exciting weekend of hockey and entertainment the entire community of southwest Michigan can enjoy.
Tonight and tomorrow, Saturday, December 21st, the K-Wings will host the Toledo Walleye during Bell's Winter White Blue Ice Weekend featuring Winter White ~ embrace winter.
In addition to the ice being blue for both games, the K-Wings will be wearing special jerseys that will be auctioned off during the weekend in a silent auction.
The blue ice will add to an already thrilling weekend of hockey and entertainment. One of the most beloved and hardnosed Detroit Red Wings of all-time, Darren McCarty, will be making a special appearance at Wings Stadium during the K-Wings 7:30 p.m. contest tonight.
A four-time Stanley Cup winner (1997, 1998, 2002 and 2008) with the Detroit Red Wings, McCarty will be signing autographs and meeting with fans starting at 6:30 p.m. on December 20th.
During the 1997 Stanley Cup Finals versus the Philadelphia Flyers, McCarty's goal in game four proved to be the cup clinching tally. Besides the Red Wings, McCarty played two seasons with the Calgary Flames.
Bell's Winter White Ale takes its cues from Belgian-style white ales and offers a lighter and abundantly flavorful alternative to the more traditional heavy winter warmers available this time of year. Fermented with a Belgian ale yeast, this blend of barley and wheat malts yields a mixture of clove and fruity aromas, all without the use of any spices. Deliberately brewed to retain a cloudy appearance, Winter White Ale is a beer for embracing winter.
