Countdown to Face-Off: Kalamazoo Wings vs Toledo Walleye

Preparing for the first of two straight games against one another, the Kalamazoo Wings and Toledo Walleye will face-off during the inaugural Bell's Winter White Blue Ice Game. The K-Wings are 1-1-0-0 versus the Walleye this season, with the home team coming out the victors.

After starting the week with a 2-1 overtime road victory on Tuesday against the Cincinnati Cyclones, the K-Wings return home looking to end a streak. Kalamazoo enters tonight winless in their last three home games (0-2-0-1).

Tonight is the second game of a four-game road swing for the Walleye. Toledo started the trip with a 7-3 loss on Wednesday night to the Evansville IceMen. On the season, the Walleye are 3-7-0-0 away from the Huntington Center.

Polasek Returns

Earlier today defenseman Adam Polasek was reassigned to the K-Wings by the Vancouver Canucks. Polasek has been with the Canucks AHL affiliate, the Utica Comets since December 12th.

Feeling Blue

Kalamazoo will host its first-ever Blue Ice Game tonight versus the Toledo Walleye. The game will be part of Bell's Winter White Blue Ice Weekend.

Overtime Finish While the K-Wings have had five games this season end in a shootout, Tuesday night's victory in Cincinnati was their first game that ended in overtime. Kalamazoo defeated Cincinnati 2-1 with a game-winning tally from Eric Kattelus.

Snapping a Streak

The K-Wings will head into the tonight looking to snap a streak. Kalamazoo is winless at home in their last three games (0-2-0-1).
