Rockford Aviators News Release
CRESTWOOD, IL - Weather has once again forced the Rockford Aviators, presented by Pearson, to suspend play and resume at a later date.
The Aviators began their game against the Windy City Thunderbolts as scheduled tonight and the Aviators took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. An RBI single by Jeff Kremer scored Tanner Witt and an RBI ground out by Kenny Bryant scored Kalaika Kahoohalahala to give the Aviators the early lead.
In the bottom of the first, Cole Green was working with a 2-1 count on Jon Mestas when the rain came down in buckets and the umpires suspended play.
The game will be resumed at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow and will be played the full nine innings as scheduled. The final game of the series will be played approximately thirty minutes after the conclusion of the resumed game.
The broadcast of the game will begin at 12:50 p.m. on the Merdix Network. The link to the broadcast can be found at www.rockfordaviators.com.
