Pittsburgh Penguins recall defenseman Patrick Boileau from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

PITTSBURGH - The Penguins have recalled defenseman Patrick Boileau from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, it was announced today by General Manager Craig Patrick.

Boileau, 28, leads all Wilkes-Barre/Scranton defensemen in scoring with eight points (0+8) in 13 games, also recording 16 penalty minutes. He leads all team defensemen in assists, is fifth on the team with a +7 rating and is tied for fifth on the team in scoring.

Boileau is tied for 12th in the AHL in scoring among league defensemen and is tied for fourth among league defensemen in assists.

The 6'0 and 202 pound native of Montreal, Quebec has appeared in 32 NHL games with Washington and Detroit, recording nine points (2+7) and 18 penalty minutes. Boileau was signed as a free agent by the Penguins on August 28, 2003.
