Trenton Thunder News Release

The Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced Thursday that pitchers Scottie Allen and Rigoberto Arrebato have been promoted to the team from the Class-A Tampa Yankees. OF Neil Medchill has been placed on the team's disabled list (retroactive to 6/18) due to a rib injury.

Allen, a right-handed starter, is expected to make his Double-A debut Friday night against Portland at ARM & HAMMER Park. The 21-year-old made 13 starts with Tampa this season and went 5-3 with a 4.34 ERA, allowing 32 runs in 64 innings pitched. He was acquired in the Yankees in a trade from the Arizona Diamondbacks in November of 2010.

Arrebato, a Cuban defector, has pitched each of the last two seasons with Tampa. In 2013, the lefty reliever is 1-2 with a 2.05 ERA in 16 appearances. He has allowed nine runs in 30.2 innings of work with 29 strikeouts.
