
Jimenez Goes 4-For-5 with 2 RBI

ALTOONA, PA- A. J. Jimenez continued his torrid hitting with four hits in five at bats, driving in two runs, but Altoona completed a three game sweep of New Hampshire with a 7-4 win on Thursday night.
The Fisher Cats (33-39) opened the scoring in the top of the first inning. Adam Loewen and Jimenez hit consecutive doubles for the game's first run.
Altoona, winners of eight straight games, loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the first inning, scoring a run when Charlie Cutler walked to tie the game at one.
The Curve (33-37) took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning. Gift Ngoepe singled, scoring on a double into the left field corner by Mel Rojas Jr. And they extended the lead in the bottom of the third to 4-1 with two sacrifice flies.
New Hampshire came back to tie the game in the top of the seventh inning. Loewen singled and scored on a Jimenez double. After Brad Glenn walked, Kevin Nolan and Ryan Schimpf hit consecutive RBI singles to draw the Fisher Cats even at 4-4.
Altoona responded in the bottom of the seventh inning as 2B Jarek Cunningham hit his 14th homer, a two-out solo shot, to push the Curve back in front. They then tacked on two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning on an RBI double Ngoepe, who then scored on a single by Rojas.
Matt Wright (1-3), who allowed the homer in relief, took the loss. Ryan Tepera, who had started, worked the first five innings, allowing four runs on six hits. He walked four and struck out five for the Fisher Cats.
Reliever Jhoathan Ramos (1-0) won the game in relief for Altoona. Luis Sanz finished up for his sixth save.
The roadtrip continues with a 7:05pm game in Harrisburg on Friday night. The Fisher Cats are expected to start Marcus Stroman (3-1, 4.15) against RHP Rob Gilliam (2-2, 4.94). Radio coverage begins at 6:45pm with Bob Lipman on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network and online at www.nhfishercats.com.
The Fisher Cats will return home for a seven-game homestand beginning Monday, June 24, against the Reading Fightin Phils (Philadelphia Phillies) and the Future Red Sox, the Portland Sea Dogs.
