Pigs Try to Take Series from Knights

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will look to take the series from the Charlotte Knights on Sunday afternoon. First pitch of the series finale from BB&T Ballpark is set for 2:05 p.m.

RHP Jake Thompson (3-5, 4.23) gets the ball for the Pigs in the series finale. Thompson was tagged with the loss on Tuesday vs. Norfolk when he allowed eight runs (six earned) on nine hits while walking three and fanning five in 3.2 IP. The right-hander is 1-1 with a 6.23 ERA in his last 3 GS.

RHP Anthony Ranaudo (1-1, 2.91) will be on the bump for Charlotte on Sunday opposite Thompson. The Freehold, N.J. native got the win on Tuesday vs. Syracuse when he gave up one run on three hits to go along with five strikeouts in seven innings of work. Ranaudo began the season in the Rangers organization before being acquired by the White Sox in exchange for RHP Matt Ball on May 12.

After notching a pair of hits on Saturday, Pigs OF Cam Perkins has now hit safely in 13 of his last 17 games. In that time, Perkins is hitting .316-3-12 with four doubles, a triple, nine runs scored and two stolen bases.
