LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville Bats dropped the series finale to the Rochester Red Wings, 8-6. The Red Wings hit two home runs in today's game to take the series.

Louisville right-hander Chad Rogers (2-3, 2.78) took the loss, pitching four and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits, four runs, two home runs, two walks, while striking out three. Rochester's starting pitcher Major League rehabber Kyle Gibson (1-0, 1.50) earned the win, pitching six innings and allowing seven hits, two runs, one earned, three walks, while striking out two.

With two outs in the second, the Red Wings' Adam Brett Walker hit a two-run home run to put Rochester up 2-0.

The Bats tied up the ballgame at two a piece in the fourth, with a single by Jesse Winker that scored in Steve Selsky and an RBI single by Seth Mejias-Brean scoring in Winker.

Rochester broke the tie in the fifth as Jorge Polanco hit a home run to bring the Red Wings up 3-2. The Red Wings added two more runs before the inning was over as a double by Tommy Field brought in Kennys Vargas and Eddie Rosario, to put the Red Wings up 5-2. Rochester extended their lead to 7-2 in the sixth inning.

Louisville added one run in the bottom of the seventh off a sacrifice fly by Selsky, but the Red Wings remained ahead 7-3

The Bats threatened in the eighth when Scott Schebler hit a solo home run to cut the Red Wings' lead down to 7-4.

The Red Wings added an insurance run in the ninth, while Louisville tried chopping away at Rochester's lead, bringing in two runs in the bottom of the ninth to bring the final score to 8-6.

The Bats will be on the road tomorrow, as they will play in Syracuse for a four game series against the Chiefs. Bats right-hander Robert Stephenson (3-3, 3.86) will be on the mound. The Chiefs will counter with right-hander Austin Voth (3-2, 2.83). First pitch will be at 6:35 p.m.
