Pigs Begin Final Homestand of Season

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will open up a two-game set with the Syracuse Chiefs on Thursday night at Coca-Cola Park. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.

RHP David Buchanan (4-2, 3.14) heads to the mound for the Pigs in the series opener. The Atlanta native was tagged with the loss on Saturday at Syracuse after giving up two runs on four hits to go along with two walks and three strikeouts in seven innings of work. In his nine starts with Lehigh Valley, lefties are hitting just .181 (13-72) against Buchanan.

LHP Richard Bleier (6-2, 2.93) gets the ball for Syracuse on Thursday. Bleier earned the win on Saturday vs. the IronPigs when he allowed one run on three hits while fanning one in 7.0 IP. Tonight marks the southpaw's fourth start of the year against Lehigh Valley. To date, Bleier is 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA against manager Dave Brundage's squad.

With a multi-hit game on Wednesday night, Pigs OF Brian Bogusevic has now hit safely in 23 of his last 28 games dating back to August 3. In that time, Bogusevic is hitting .342-6-19 with three doubles, a triple, five stolen bases and 22 runs scored.

The first 3,500 fans 18 and older will receive an IronPigs Foam Finger presented by Urology Specialists of the Lehigh Valley. The IronPigs will also be wearing baby blue specialty caps to raise money and awareness for Prostate Cancer. There is also a Happy Hour in the AT&T Plaza from 5 to 6 p.m. with $1 hot dogs and $2 domestic drafts. Thursday also features the "9 Innings of Networking" event which is a career fair featuring local organizations that are actively recruiting and hiring for open positions.
