Louisville Bats News Release
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville Bats will host their final four games of the 2015 season this weekend at Louisville Slugger Field. The Bats will face the top two teams in the International League West, the Columbus Clippers and Indianapolis Indians, for a pair each.
The homestand opens Friday, September 4 with the Clippers, Triple-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, as the Bats return from a six-game road trip. Purple Bats hats will be given to the first 2,000 paid admissions on Friday and the game will be followed by Friday Fireworks. Friday's game will also be the Bats' final Peanut Allergy Awareness Night. Peanuts or peanut-based products will not be sold or allowed inside the ballpark. Fans attending Friday's game may also receive a voucher for a free hot dog and small Pepsi for donating a new children's book to The UPS Store Toys for Tots Literacy Program.
Jake the Diamond Dog will make his final appearance on Saturday, September 5. Before Saturday's game, the Bats will present their 2015 Mary E. Barney Team MVP award and sport bags will be given to the first 2,500 paid admissions.
The 2015 campaign ends with a pair of games against the Indians, Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, on Sunday, September 6 and Monday, September 7. Fans will be treated to $1 hot dogs and Pepsi products at each game and fireworks will follow Sunday's game.
Monday's game is set for a special Labor Day 1:05 p.m. start time. The Bats will be giving away 25 game-worn purple alternate jerseys immediately following the game as part of the team's Shirts Off Our Backs promotion. Winning fans will be drawn at random by seat locations and must be present to claim their prizes. Normally on Sunday, the Kids Run the Bases promotion will be moved to after Monday's game due to Sunday's fireworks show.
Tickets, group tickets and suites are still available for the Bats' Labor Day weekend homestand. Season ticket packages for 2016 are also available. Information on 2016 season ticket packages and the 2016 schedule are available at batsbaseball.com or by calling the front office at 502-212-BATS.
