Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
Down to their final five games of 2015, the IronPigs (62-77) play Game 1 of a two-game series against the fourth-place Syracuse Chiefs (63-76) at Coca-Cola Park... With a 6-5 loss last night in Pawtucket, the Pigs were swept in a two-game set at McCoy Stadium and finished 3-5 on the eight-game road trip -- their final road trip of the season. Still, the Pigs remain 7-6 since Aug. 22 and have posted a 40-35 record since reaching their low-water mark on June 13 (22-42)... The Chiefs -- Washington's top affiliate -- won 6-2 at Buffalo last night to sweep a two-game series at Coca-Cola Field. The Chiefs are 9-9 since their season-high, 11-game winning streak from Aug. 3-15. In fact, since falling to their low-water mark on July 3 (28-54), the Chiefs sport an impressive 35-22 mark... The Pigs just took the last meeting against the Chiefs, 2-1, from Aug. 29-31 at NBT Bank Stadium -- and have already clinched a victory in the season series.
RHP David Buchanan (4-2, 3.14) will start for LHV against LHP Richard Bleier (6-2, 2.93).
Tonight is IronPigs Foam Finger Night, presented by Urology Specialists of the Lehigh Valley... First Pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
