INDIANAPOLIS - Outfielder Felix Pie has been named the Indianapolis Indians' Player of the Month for May. He will accept the award - a custom-made watch courtesy of Windsor Jewelry - before tonight's home contest against the Durham Bulls.

Pie was unstoppable on the base paths in May as his 15 stolen bases ranked tied for the most steals in all of Triple-A Baseball during the month, being matched only by Louisville's top prospect Billy Hamilton, who appeared in three more contests than the Tribe's slugger. Pie also finished ranked second among all International League batters who played in at least 25 games during May in both batting average (.356) and slugging percentage (.563), while his .446 on-base percentage ranked as the third-highest in the league.

The speedy outfielder served as the ultimate versatile offensive player for the Indians during the month, pacing all Tribe hitters with two triples and 15 stolen bases, tying for the team lead with 18 runs scored and ranking second with 31 base knocks and 19 RBI. Along with notching two, six-game hitting streaks, Pie collected nine multi-hit efforts through 25 contests in May, highlighted by an impressive pair of four-hit games.

As of June 7, Pie has produced a .275 average (49-for-178) with nine doubles, three triples, three homers, 26 RBI and 23 stolen bases, which ranks as the second-most steals in the IL. He entered the season's second month with just a .172 clip at the plate, but after his dominating performance in May, Pie raised his batting average by over 100 points to conclude the 25-game stretch hitting .278.
