Syracuse, N.Y. - A three-run home run in the eighth inning by Corey Brown helped give the Syracuse Chiefs (Triple-A/Washington Nationals) the 4-2 win over the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (New York Yankees) on Friday night in Syracuse. Entering the eighth inning, the Chiefs trailed SWB, 2-1.

Vidal Nuno received the start for SWB, his first as a RailRider since April 21 due to an extended stay with the Yankees. He left early with two outs in the second inning, but struck out four batters before his exit.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre scored both of their runs in the top of the third inning. Bobby Wilson led the frame off with a walk, and one out later Thomas Neal walked as well. Following another out, Ronnier Mustelier hit a fastball over the head of Chiefs center fielder Eury Perez. The ball went all the way to the wall, and scored both Wilson and Neal. Mustelier's double extended his hitting streak to nine games, and gave the RailRiders the 2-0 lead.

Syracuse cut the lead in half in the fourth. Chris Rahl led off with a single, and advanced to third on a base hit by Will Rhymes. Chris Marrero drove home Rahl from third with a single to right-center field.

The game remained 2-1 in favor of SWB until the bottom of the eighth. Rahl led off the frame with a double to right-center field, and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Rhymes. Following a walk to Marrero, Brown hit his 10th home run of the season to right field off of Sam Demel. The homer gave the game its final margin of 4-2 in favor of Syracuse, who beat the RailRiders for just the second time in seven tries.

Syracuse starter Ross Ohlendorf worked five innings, allowed two runs, and conceded just one hit in a no-decision. Ryan Tatusko worked three innings to get the win, and Tanner Roark retired SWB in order in the ninth to earn his second save of the season.

Chase Whitley relieved Nuno, and went two and one-third innings with four strikeouts and one run allowed. Dellin Betances (3-3) was handed the loss.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre will return to PNC Field on Saturday, and will welcome in the Buffalo Bisons (Toronto Blue Jays) for a four-game series. Brett Marshall (2-4, 7.27) will get the start for the RailRiders. The Allied Services Pediatric Program Auction will be held at PNC Field prior to the contest at 1 p.m. and that night the team will wear jerseys that commemorate Autism Awareness Night. First pitch on Saturday is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. The first 1,000 kids 12 and under through the gates will also receive a free mini-pillow pet, courtesy of Montage Mountain.
