Picard Added to Roster

Syracuse, NY (November 23, 2007) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have activated left wing Alexandre Picard off injured reserve and assigned him to Syracuse. In addition, the Syracuse Crunch announced that right wing Petr Pohl has been reassigned to Youngstown (CHL) and defenseman Jekabs Redlihs has been loaned to Elmira (ECHL).

Picard, 22, appeared in 48 games for Syracuse last season, registering 11 goals, 18 assists and 73 penalty minutes. He also appeared in 23 games for Columbus last season, tallying 1 assist and 6 penalty minutes in 23 games. A native of Les Saules, Quebec, Picard was drafted by Columbus in the 1st round, 8th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Pohl, 21, has appeared in two games for Syracuse this season, notching five penalty minutes in two games. He also appeared in 65 games with Dayton of the ECHL last season, notching 8 goals, 17 assists and 18 penalty minutes. A native of Prostejov, Czech Republic, Pohl was selected by Columbus in the 5th round, 133rd overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Redlihs, 25, has appeared in 13 games for Syracuse this season, tallying 1 goal, 2 assists and 10 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in one game for Elmira this year. A native of Riga, Latvia, Redlihs was drafted by Columbus in the 4th round, 119th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
