
Coyotes loan Aebischer to HC Lugano of Switzerland

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have loaned goaltender David Aebischer to HC Lugano of Switzerland National League A.
Aebischer, 29, appeared in one game for the Coyotes this season and stopped 30 of 33 shots in a loss at Columbus on Oct. 10. The Fribourg, Switzerland native signed with the Coyotes as a free agent on July 19, 2007.
Aebischer was assigned to the San Antonio Rampage, the Coyotes' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, on Oct. 24 where he posted a 2-3-0 record with a 2.58 goals against average (GAA) and .898 save percentage (SV%) in five games.
For his career, Aebischer has played in 214 NHL games, compiling a 106-74-12-5 record, including 13 shutouts, as well as a 2.52 GAA and .912 SV% in seven seasons with Colorado, Montreal and the Coyotes. He has also posted a 6-5 record with a 2.07 GAA and .922 SV% in 13 career playoff games.
Aebischer was originally drafted by Colorado in the 6th round (161st overall) of the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
