Bayda Back With River Rats, MacDonald To Florida

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today that left wing Ryan Bayda has been reassigned to Albany by the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League. The River Rats also announced that right wing Kirk MacDonald has been loaned to the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.

Bayda, 26, returns to Albany after appearing in three games for the Hurricanes since his recall to Raleigh on November 9th. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native has played in a total of seven games for Carolina this season; with Albany he has four points (2 goals, 2 assists) in nine games. He recorded his 200th career AHL point on October 19th versus the Manchester Monarchs and needs just seven games to reach his 300th career AHL game played. Bayda is expected to be in the lineup for Friday night's road game against the Lowell Devils at Tsongas Arena in Massachusetts.

MacDonald, 23, has appeared in nine games for the River Rats so far this season, recording one assist and seven penalty minutes. The Victoria, British Columbia native is expected to arrive in Estero, Florida prior to the Everblades' Friday home game against the Penacola Ice Pilots.

The River Rats will face their old affiliation the Lowell Devils on the road tonight at 7:05 pm. Albany returns to the Times Union Center on Saturday, November 24th to host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers for a special 5:00 pm face off.
