Phoenix's Covington Suspended One Game

November 21, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL) News Release


PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced that it has suspended Phoenix right wing Steve Covington for one game as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #164 at Las Vegas on Nov. 20.

Covington was assessed an instigator penalty with 17 seconds remaining in the game.

Rule 47.12 states that any player deemed to be the instigator or aggressor of fisticuffs during the last five minutes of the game or at anytime during overtime, shall be automatically suspended from his team's next game.

Covington will miss Phoenix's game at Bakersfield (Nov. 24).
