
Philadelphia Union Announce 2021 Preseason Schedule

CHESTER, Pa. - Coming off their 2020 Supporters' Shield victory, Philadelphia Union today announced their 2021 preseason schedule. The team will train in market before returning to the club's pre-season base in Clearwater, Florida where they will continue their partnership with Visit St. Pete Clearwater for the seventh consecutive season. The team will then open the round of 16 of the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League on the road in Costa Rica against Deportivo Saprissa in the first leg on April 7, before hosting the Costa Rican side at Subaru Park on April 14.
The team began full-team training in market today, Monday, March 1, following medical clearances and physicals, and will depart for Clearwater, Fla. on Friday, March 12.
During their yearly pre-season trip the Union have scheduled a pair of closed-door scrimmages at Joe DiMaggio Field: Monday, March 15 at 11:00 a.m. ET vs. Orlando City SC and Saturday, March 20 at 3:00 p.m. ET vs. Chicago Fire FC.
The Union then return to Philadelphia on March 24, where they will train and play a third closed-door friendly, opponent TBA, at Subaru Park on March 31 at 3:00 p.m. ET. Following their last preseason match, the club will depart for the first leg of the 2021 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League where they will face Deportivo Saprissa in Costa Rica.
