Adirondack Phantoms News Release
FRIDAY, OCT. 24 - PHANTOMS VS. HARTFORD, 7:00 PM - XL Center
This will be the first of two matchups this season between the Phantoms and the Hartford Wolf Pack (New York Rangers). Hartford will travel to the Wachovia Spectrum in December. The Wolf Pack are currently sixth in the Atlantic Division with a 1-3 record. The two teams faced each other twice during the 07-08 season and split that home-and-home series. The Pack will be looking to break out of an offensive funk that has seen them score just six goals in their first four games.
SATURDAY, OCT. 25 - PHANTOMS VS. ALBANY, 1:00 PM - Times Union Center
The Phantoms face-off for the first of eight contests with the River Rats (Carolina Hurricanes) in a 1:00 Saturday afternoon start in New York's capital. Like the Phantoms, Albany has just two points on the young season, although in two fewer games for a record of 1-2-0. Dwight Helminen leads the River Rats with four points on two goals and two assists. Last year, the Phantoms and Rats engaged in an epic East Division Semifinal series that Philadelphia won in seven games. It included a five-overtime Phantoms win in Game 5 that was the longest game in AHL history. During the regular season in 2007-08, the Phantoms won five of eight meetings.
NEXT HOME GAME
The Phantoms return to the Wachovia Spectrum on Sunday, November 2nd when they host the Hershey Bears at 5:05 PM. It will be 60's Night at the Spectrum, and all fans are encouraged to wear their hippest retro gear. Tickets are still available! Call 1-800-298-4200 or go online to phantomshockey.com for more details.
PHANTOMS GET REINFORCEMENTS
Jared Ross and Steve Downie were reassigned to the Phantoms by the Flyers on Monday. Downie appeared in four games for the Flyers, while Ross played in two. Both players are expected with the team this weekend in Hartford and Albany.
TRICK OR TREAT WITH PHLEX
