
Crunch and MVP Health Care announce details of second annual 'Pink Out'

Syracuse, NY (October 20, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch and MVP Health Care announced today that in support of Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund and National Breast Cancer Awareness Month the first 2,000 fans in attendance for their October 25 game against the Rochester Americans will receive a special pink t-shirt, compliments of MVP Health Care.
In support of the night select Crunch players will use pink tape on their sticks and local breast cancer survivors will be on hand to drop the ceremonial opening face-off puck. In addition special raffles and Chuck-A-Puck sales will benefit the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund.
The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund, Inc., supports both new and established researchers investigating the causes, prevention and treatment of breast cancer. This research will include-but not be limited to-studies of the genetic, molecular, cellular and environmental factors involved in the development and progression of breast cancer; application of the knowledge thus gained to educate medical professionals and increase public awareness for the prevention, detection and treatment of breast cancer; and studies of the outcomes of breast cancer detection and treatment on the patient, their families and society.
The National Breast Cancer Awareness Month program is dedicated to increasing public knowledge about the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Fifteen national public service organizations, professional associations, and government agencies comprise the Board of Sponsors, who work together to ensure that the NBCAM message is heard by thousands of women and their families.
