Peterborough Petes News Release

(Peterborough, ON) - Peterborough Petes General Manager Michael Oke announced Friday that the team has acquired defenceman Jack York from the Barrie Colts in exchange for OHL Priority Selection Picks.

York, a 2000-born rearguard, was originally selected in the 5th round, 98th overall by the Kitchener Rangers in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection. He was acquired by the Colts on December 9, 2018. In 152 games, the 6'0", 194lbs Ottawa native has put up 12 goals, 35 assists, and 47 points.

"Jack is an experienced OHL defender that will come in and complement the group that we have in place, giving us additional depth in our defence corps," commented Oke.

In the deal, Barrie acquires the following picks:

- Peterborough's 8th round pick in 2020

- Windsor's 3rd round pick in 2023

- Peterborough's 4th round pick in 2023

York is expected to be in the lineup on Saturday when the Petes host the Ottawa 67's.

Tickets for Saturday and all regular season home games are available (while supplies last) through the PMC Grant Thornton Box Office in person and over the phone at (705) 743-3561 Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 5:00pm, and 24 hours a day online.
