IceDogs Acquire Former 2nd Round Pick Cameron Peters from Battalion

Forward Cameron Peters with the North Bay Battalion

Niagara, ON - Niagara IceDogs' General Manager Joey Burke announced today that the club has completed a trade with the North Bay Battalion, acquiring second year forward Cameron Peters and North Bay's 6th round pick in the 2022 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.
In exchange, the IceDogs have traded the rights to Christian Stevens, the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds' 3rd round pick in 2023, and Erie's 8th round pick in 2022.
"This is a very exciting addition for us." Said General Manager Joey Burke. "Cam is a guy I absolutely loved in his draft year, a second round pick who was a standout for the Toronto Marlboros. This change of scenery should reignite Cam and I know he is going to fit in great with our young group".
Peters, a 17 year old product from Toronto, was a former 2nd round selection (29th overall) of the Battalion's in 2018. He's in his second OHL season. In his OHL Draft year, he had 60 points (27 goals, 33 assists) in 59 games.
A bigger body, Peters stands at 6'02", and weighs 180lbs. He is a younger player known for playing hard, with a great shot. His ability to read and make plays shows the potential he has to be a big, competitive piece into what Niagara is building.
"Cam adds a nice dynamic of speed size and skill and is a guy I have wanted to bring in for two years. I am very excited at this addition, it really helps contribute to our bright future".
