Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that forward Denver Manderson has been recalled from loan to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).
Manderson, 24, has skated in 25 contests this season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, netting one goal, six assists and four penalty minutes. After appearing in just one game for Wheeling last year due to injury, Manderson has compiled 23 points (9g-14a) and six PIM in 2013-14 over 21 games with the team.
During his first professional season in 2011-12, Manderson finished tied for fourth on Wheeling with 40 points (18g-22a) in 52 games.
Hailing from Fergus, Ontario, Manderson spent the majority of his three-year junior career with the Penticton Vees of the British Columbia Hockey League. In 2009-10, he tallied 113 points in 50 games to finish third in scoring in the BCHL and second on the Vees to current-Pittsburgh Penguin Beau Bennett.
The Penguins complete their four-game home stand tonight when they host the Hershey Bears at 7:05pm.
