February 25, 2014 - American Hockey League (AHL)
St. John's IceCaps News Release

The St. John's IceCaps are once again partnering with Purolator for the Purolator Shut Out Hunger Food Drive this Saturday, March 1st, to support the Community Food Sharing Association.

The event will take place from 6:30-7:30 p.m., prior to the IceCaps game versus the Binghamton Senators. IceCaps fans are encouraged to participate by bringing non-perishable food items to the Purolator volunteers stationed at the Mile One Centre entrances. In return, fans will be entered into a draw for a replica IceCaps jersey.

Additionally, each time an IceCaps player scores a goal, Purolator will donate 100 pounds of food towards the Purolator Shut Out Hunger food drive.

The IceCaps and Purolator, with the help of thousands of fans who attended the Dec. 7 game vs. the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, raised 5,200 pounds of food for the Community Food Sharing Association's near 30,000 clients throughout the province. IceCaps Care and the Williams Family Foundation also donated $5,000 (the equivalent of another 2,000 pounds of food) to the Community Food Sharing Association in the month of December.
