Wednesday, Feb. 19: Binghamton 4, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 3

Shots: Binghamton 31, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 32

PP: Binghamton 2 for 4, Wilkes-Barre-Scranton 2 for 5

Binghamton rallied to score the final three goals in a come-from-behind overtime win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at the Mohegan Sun Arena. Chris Wideman scored the game-winning goal 30 seconds into overtime on the power play to give the B-Sens the victory. Andrew Hammond started in net for the third consecutive game to improve to 16-10-3 on the season.

Corey Cowick opened the scoring for the B-Sens 2:39 into the first period when he flipped a rebound over Penguins goaltender Jeff Deslauriers for his 11th goal of the season. Harry Zolnierczyk evened the score at 1-1 just over six minutes later beating Hammond off a feed from Nick Drazenovic. With Tyler Eckford in the penalty box for a hooking call, Wilkes-Barre's power-play unit went to work. Working the man advantage, Drazenovic one-timed a cross-ice feed from Brian Gibbons to give the Penguins the 2-1 lead heading into the first intermission.

The teams traded goals over the middle frame with the first coming on the power-play for Wilkes-Barre. With Mike Hoffman sitting for four minutes following a double minor for slashing and unsportsmanlike, Brendan Mikkelson notched his fourth goal of the season giving the Penguins their second power-play strike of the evening. Binghamton drew within one when Matt Puempel sent home his 19th marker of the year with less than four minutes remaining. The Penguins outshot the Sens 14-8 during the second period.

Binghamton and Wilkes-Barre each managed just eight shots on goal during the final 20 minutes of play. Despite the few scoring chances Mark Stone converted on a power-play chance for the Sens at the 6:27 mark of the final period making it 3-3. Hammond stopped all eight shots faced in the final period of regulation forcing overtime.

With the B-Sens working 1:38 of residual power-play time from Spencer Machacek's high sticking call at the end of the third, Wideman buried his seventh goal of the season to give the Sens the 4-3 come-from-behind overtime win. Stone earned the secondary assist on Wideman's game-winner to give him a two point evening. Hammond finished with 29 saves on 32 shots faced while Deslauriers turned aside 27 of 31 shots in the losing effort.

Friday, Feb. 21: Binghamton 4, Hamilton 1

Shots: Binghamton 22, Hamilton 32

PP: Binghamton 0 for 3, Hamilton 0 for 3

Binghamton defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-1 at the Bell Centre in Montreal Friday to manage a split of the home-and-home season series played at the parent club's arenas. Andrew Hammond played stellar between the pipes for the Senators all night stopping 31 of 32 shots faced en route to his 17th victory of the season. Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Andre Petersson led Binghamton offensively with a goal and an assist each.

First period action was a goaltender highlight reel as both Hammond and Bulldogs netminder Dustin Tokarski managed to stop all shots faced sending the teams to the locker room scoreless after 20 minutes of play. Hammond turned aside all 11 Bulldogs shots while Tokarski was perfect on the eight Binghamton shots sent his way.

Nick Tarnasky broke the scoreless tie 4:18 into the second period on an unassisted goal following a mishandled puck in the Binghamton zone. Binghamton evened the score at the 15 minute mark of the middle frame when Pageau scored his ninth goal of the year. With Petersson carrying a majority of the Hamilton defense with him, he fed the puck to a wide open Pageau who buried it past Tokarski. Just 43 seconds later Binghamton grabbed its first lead of the game when Buddy Robinson turned a feed from Shane Prince past Tokarski making it 2-1 B-Sens. Hammond corralled all 11 shots faced during the period to keep the Sens up 2-1 heading into the third.

Binghamton added a pair of goals in the final 20 minutes to earn the hard-fought victory. Petersson notched his 17th of the year at 12:29 before Mike Hoffman added an empty-netter with just less than two minutes remaining to move the final score to 4-1.

Tokarski finished with 18 saves on 21 shots faced in the losing effort. Both Binghamton and Hamilton finished 0 for 3 on the man advantage.

Saturday, Feb. 22: Utica 3, Binghamton 2

Shots: Utica 30, Binghamton 29

PP: Utica 1 for 1, Binghamton 0 for 5

Binghamton's win streak was snapped at four games as the visiting Utica Comets won 3-2 on a pair of third period goals. Frank Corrado blasted home the eventual game-winner 6:31 into the final period to give the Comets their first win in the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena during the inaugural season back in the American Hockey League. Joacim Eriksson stopped 27 of 29 shots faced to earn his 16th victory of the season.

Mike Hoffman scored both B-Sens goals for the night with the initial coming 13:11 into the first period to give the Sens the 1-0 lead. Andrew Hammond backstopped Binghamton for the fifth consecutive game stopping all 10 Comets shots faced in the opening period.

Utica evened the score at one apiece 9:18 into the middle frame when Colin Stuart knocked home a loose puck in front of Hammond for his 12th goal of the year. Just over two minutes later, Hoffman gave Binghamton the lead back on his second marker of the evening off a great feed from Mark Stone. The B-Sens carried the 2-1 advantage into the final intermission.

With Utica working 34 seconds of residual power-play from a Stephane Da Costa tripping penalty at the end of the second period, Nicklas Jensen converted just 19 seconds into the third to tie the game at 2-2. Corrado ripped home the game-winner directly off a Comets faceoff win in the Binghamton zone to give the visitors the come-from-behind win. Hammond finished with 27 saves on 30 shots faced in his first loss since surrendering four goals to Hamilton at the Canadian Tire Centre on February 8.
